Kurinuki is a traditional Japanese ceramic technique with roots dating back to medieval times. The term 'Kurinuki' translates to 'hollow or reveal,' encapsulating the essence of this method. It involves the creation of distinctive, textured surfaces that embrace asymmetry, irregularity, and the unique imprint of the creator. During this process, a single block of clay is meticulously carved to shape both the interior and exterior, resulting in a surface reminiscent of natural rock formations.

Our workshop centers around an intuitive and meditative approach to working with clay. It welcomes participants of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced artists. Each attendee will receive 1 kg of clay, sufficient for crafting one Kurinuki cup, with the option to purchase more if desired. The session begins with an introduction to the craft, followed by a demonstration of carving a Kurinuki cup. Every participant will receive expert guidance throughout the process and can choose from two glazes, black and white, to finish their cup.

Join us on alternate Sundays from 12 PM to 3 PM for this unique creative experience.
